Interim Days
March 6-8, 2024
As part of our vision to prepare individuals for life, Springwood realizes the value of non-traditional learning experiences for students. For many years, job shadowing, community service, college tours, mini courses, and much more have comprised the Interim Program for Springwood 7th – 12th grade students. Students and teachers alike enjoy the opportunity to interact beyond the confines of the traditional classroom.
7th Grade: Participate in SIFAT (Servants in Faith and Technology). Students will experience first-hand the difficulty and challenges associated with meeting basic human needs in developing rural and urban areas in our world today.
8th Grade: Students will visit Jekyll Island, where they will bond as a team and learn about Marine Biology.
9th Grade Junior Class: Participate in several field trips to various locations throughout Georgia and Alabama.
10th Grade Sophomore Class: Take various college campus tours to learn how to get accepted to selective colleges, and gain knowledge of campus/college life. Students will also be a part of a Forest Echo Tour in an old growth deep woods forest that has 12 zip lines and 9 sky bridges.
11th Grade Junior Class: Students will have the option to attend a trip focusing on the history of the Civil War or attend day trips focusing on Civil Rights following the war.
12th Grade Senior Class: Participate in job shadowing in the fields of their career interests.
